Stimulating adoption of new ideas and processes in technology based businesses

Wide range of topics

Meetings are held five times per year at venues within the M4 corridor and normally involve the use of case study presentations. Usually, they are of half day duration; with occasional full day meetings to allow for parallel session workshop groups, so members may explore the implications of the case studies in the context of their own businesses.

The topics addressed are wide ranging, from those relating directly to the acquisition, use and exploitation of technology through to wider people and process change issues. The quality and value of the meetings, both in terms of presentations and the opportunity to develop the ideas in collaboration with fellow members, ensures that there is always an excellent turnout of directors and managers.

Members are encouraged to attend meetings even when the subject matter is not an existing priority - the M4 Innovation Network is not just about helping members to put their existing ideas into practice (though it does do this) but also sparks off entirely new ideas and opportunities.

You can look at a list of topics already addressed. This provides a flavour of how the core meetings underpin the Network operation.  The list also includes activities of the Special Interest Groups (Manufacturing and New Technology Based Firms).

Member-to-member interaction is possible at any time, using the Members’ database and bulletin board.

The Network represents a low cost, low risk but effective mechanism for managers to learn from the experiences of others. The Network is sponsored by Business Link - delivering the Government's small business service locally, across the United Kingdom.
