Purpose |
Set up in 1993, the EMC Club was established to help firms comply with new legislation
on product approvals coming from Europe. Initially the focus was on the EMC Directive, but
now the Club also addresses other Directives (such as Low Voltage, Machinery Safety and
Medical Devices) and related standards and regulations governing the supply of products
and components in European and global markets.
|
 |
Technology and regulatory issues |
|
Through regular meetings the EMC Club acts as a forum for discussion on regulatory
issues, often involving interpretation of requirements and how best these may be
implemented. While European Directives are still the main focus, Club members trade
world-wide and are thus concerned to understand and comply with requirements wherever they
may apply.
Increasingly the Club is involved with issues relating to technology requirements in
design, manufacture and testing of products and components. Through its members and
TVTs own specialist consultants, the Club is able to help with accessing and
transfer of appropriate technology.
